Welcome to MIX!

Welcome to the conference site for New Mexico's annual Media Industries Conference, "MIX". Info from MIX 2009 is most of what you'll find right now, but we're beginning work on MIX SIX -- now scheduled for April 3rd, 2010 in Albuquerque.

Meanwhile, take a look at the discussions here, on the MISP listservs (http://www.altmedianm.org for more info about MISP and to sign up), and in continuing meetings and other events throughout the state.

Interested in signing up? We'd love to have more folks involved, but ask that potential members have some real connection to work being done in New Mexico.

Thanks to everyone to participated -- we hope you'll continue to do so!

According to one study, over 60 million Americans have read a blog. Worldwide, that number is closer to 350 million. When my parents send me YouTube links, I know that almost everyone is involved with social media now.

2. Social Media is Gaining Trust- One of the knocks on social media as a source of information used to be that it wasn’t t… Continue

New Mexico Media Industries Conference Overview

Saturday the 17th at the University of New Mexico I was given the privilege to speak on two of the panels at the New Mexico Media Industries Conference. I had no idea what to expect as most of the conferences I have attend or spoken at have been either heavy on the Linux side of things or more in the line of technical support.

In the last few years or so New Mexico has become a hot bed of Film and TV production. Sony Pictures has opened a studio branch in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Many Televisio… Continue
